About This Intervention

Climate change and environmental degradation pose a direct and growing threat to food and nutrition security across Africa. Changing weather patterns, prolonged droughts, and biodiversity loss are undermining agricultural productivity and the stability of food systems, which disproportionately affects the most vulnerable families. This intervention tackles these interconnected challenges by promoting climate-resilient agricultural practices, sustainable resource management, and strategies that p

Program Objectives

  • Build Climate-Resilient Food Systems: To strengthen the capacity of 300 smallholder farming households to adopt and maintain at least three climate-smart agricultural practices
  • Protect Dietary Diversity: To reverse the decline in dietary diversity by promoting the cultivation and consumption of indigenous, nutrient-dense crops that are resilient to local climate.

Key Achievements

  • Resilient Practices Adopted: Successfully trained 120 farmers across Uganda and Kenya in climate-smart techniques
  • Knowledge Mobilization: Launched a community-led knowledge-sharing network, with 35 active groups now independently organizing field days and peer-to-peer training on sustainable farming, reaching over 10,000 additional community members indirectly.
